Day & Night

This Pixar Oscar nominated short film, directed by Teddy Newton, appeared before Toy Story 3 in its theatrical release. 

 My contribution

All set modeling and motion graphics across the entire short. The various landscapes & terrains needed to be modeled very precisely in order to integrate with the 2D characters in the desired way.

in this clip, I composited the cowboy animation into a background plate and animated various passing rocks, finally adding smoke and shadow layers to integrate the various elements.

When we arrive in Vegas, working with art director Don Shank, I created & animated all of the motion graphics that appear on the signs and buildings.  I also modeled all set elements, barring the vegetation, and dressed the set.
